The first step in understanding that various cells have various function is understanding the fact that all multi-cellular organisms have different systems responsible for different functions.In humans, we call these "Body Systems" which include systems like the Digestive, Circulatory, Respiratory and Immune System.

All cells in multi-cellular organisms have specific jobs. Inside each cell are smaller parts that have specific jobs as well. These are called organelles.
They include the:
- Nucleus
- Nucleolus
- Mitochondria
- Golgi Apparatus
- Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER)
- Cytoplasm
- Cytoskeleton
- Ribosomes
- Lysosomes
- Cell Membrane
- Chloroplast (Plant Only)
- Cell Wall (Plant Only)
